Jamie Horton

Jamie Horton

Membership & Communications Officer

Jamie is an experienced community manager with expertise in volunteering, health, food initiatives and wellbeing.

With a background in Business Administration and Education, Jamie supports and grows the membership base, manages the website and social media, and helps deliver training and events.

About Jamie

"I’ve always been shaped by strong family values, community spirit, and a deep belief that everyone deserves the chance to thrive. Those foundations have taken me on a varied path: from working with Carmarthen Fire Brigade (including the occasional stint inside a Dilwyn Dragon costume), to supporting homelessness projects in Australia, to co producing volunteering programmes and travelling whenever possible to learn from others."

More recently, I’ve been learning to navigate personal and professional barriers with honesty and determination. Through it all, one thing has stayed the same — I will always do my utmost to help. I’m transparent, trustworthy, and, for better or worse, completely available for karaoke."

  • Top business tip: Always ask questions. This is your passion and your livelihood — never stay quiet if you’re unsure.
  • 3 things you love: My two King Charles Cavalier dogs, the magic of reading, exploring the unknown.
  • Strength & challenge: Strength: A determination to understand. Struggle: When people are untruthful — it’s the one thing that stops me in my tracks.
  • What she loves about SFW: This is exactly where I should be at this stage in my career. It allows me to bring together my academic background, professional experience, and lived understanding to support our members. Social Firms Wales recognises the value of my journey — and my ability to help others on theirs.
