A Message from Rosie

Welcome to Our New Subscribers

A warm welcome to our new subscribers in RCT and the Vale of Glamorgan.

A Message from Rosie

Dear members, I hope you all had a relaxing break and are feeling energised for the year ahead.

Although I’m not a massive fan of New Year Resolutions in general, I do love this time of year for reflecting and resetting your goals, especially when it comes to your business.

Setting Intentions

Setting intentions for the year ahead can be a golden opportunity to step back and think about how you want to approach the coming year, including the challenges and opportunities that will inevitably arise.

Picking a value or trait to embrace can help inform your approach to business, decision making, reactions and overall business philosophy.

Choosing a Focus

Whether you choose to be proactive, generous, risk-taking, curious or organised, your chosen focus can influence your work this year and help open new horizons.

For Rosie personally, this year is about becoming more focused on business goals, with clear measurable aims while still remaining open to new opportunities.

Raising the Profile of Social Firms

At Social Firms Wales, this year will also be about raising the profile of the Social Firm sector.

What is a Social Firm? Why are Social Firms so important? What do they do?

The term “Social Firm” is still shrouded in mystery for many, especially now that Social Enterprise and Social Business are the umbrella terms more commonly used.

Why Social Firms Matter

Social Firms need their own identity as social enterprises that intentionally create employment opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged people.

This is especially important at a time when rates of disability in the UK are increasing and the disability employment gap continues to grow.

Creating a Buzz

This is the year we really want to shout from the rooftops about the amazing work our members do.

We also want more people to consider setting up a Social Firm in the first place. Together, let’s create a buzz about this incredible sector.

Share Your Stories

If you would like to contribute to the conversation, provide case studies, testimonials or a guest blog, please get in touch.

We are particularly looking for examples of individuals who have thrived through their participation in your Social Firm and overcome barriers or obstacles.

We also want to know what drives you as a Social Firm leader, what the obstacles are, and what you love about the work you do.

Follow and Share

The campaign to raise awareness of Social Firms will run across our social media channels, new website and the press.

Please look out for mentions of Social Firms, like and share whenever you can, and follow us across social media if you have not already.

We will also be sure to share your content through our networks.

With Best Wishes

I would like to wish you every success with your business goals this year and look forward to catching up with you at our events throughout the year.
