About Amplifying Accessibility

Amplifying Accessibility supports Disabled music workers in Wales to engage in careers made accessible to them.

The organisation works to create greater opportunities for Disabled people working in music, helping them to develop their skills, build professional connections and achieve their career goals.

Some of the work they do includes:

1. Delivering activities, projects and initiatives that increase the employability skills of Disabled music workers in Wales.
2. Designing and facilitating accessibility-focused training and consultancy for arts-based organisations across the UK.
3. Advocating on behalf of the needs of Disabled music workers in Wales on international boards and at sector-specific conferences.

Working Across Wales

Amplifying Accessibility is committed to making sure Disabled music workers across Wales can access opportunities, support and professional development, wherever they are based.

Accessibility as a Standard

"We exist to make accessibility a standard, not a luxury."

Founded and led by an all Disabled team, Amplifying Accessibility’s work demonstrates that access is essential to building stronger music ecosystems in Wales.

Listening to What People Need

Projects are developed through continuous consultation with stakeholders across Wales and by responding to what people want and need.

This approach has led to the development of everything from networking events to inclusive techno raves, creating spaces where Disabled music workers can connect, develop and enjoy music together.

Creating Safe Spaces

Often, service users have a passion for music but no idea how to make their career aspirations possible.

"We’ve created a safe space for people to reach their full potential, perform, make new connections, progress into self employment and much more."

Building Connections Between Wales and Scotland

This year, Amplifying Accessibility has established its first Wales-Scotland partnership project.

Led by a 95% Disabled team, the project will connect Disabled workers across the two nations, supporting them to develop new professional relationships and continue building their careers.

What’s Next?

"Next, we are looking at how we can develop services that support music venues without the resources to engage in access."

Amplifying Accessibility is also taking the next steps towards becoming a CIC, giving the organisation the capacity to support even more incredible Disabled people across Wales to achieve their career goals.
